June 21, 2009 Orioles 3, Phillies 2

Cole Hamels, save for a first inning run, was pitching just fine and was in line for a win with a 2-1 lead - until the top of the 8th, when Felix Pie rips a 2-run pinch-hit homerun over the wall to give the O's the 3-2 lead. The Phillies mount a comeback in the 9th though. Carlos Ruiz singles with two outs, with John Mayberry Jr. coming in to pinch-run to get a bit more speed on the bases. Next batter, pinch-hitter Ryan Howard, pokes one into right for a single with Mayberry trying for third on the 1-17 split card chance. It comes up an 18, Mayberry is out at third and game over.
