| The Nationals avoid the sweep with a thrilling come from behind win. Jon Lester is pinch-hit for in the 7th, and despite 10 K leaves the game in a 4-3 hole but Youk takes him off the hook and in line for a win with a 2-run top of the 7th double. However, in the 8th against Daniel Bard an Adam Dunn pinch-hit double and Willie Harris single put a run across and tie the game, 5-all. Bard walks Ryan Zimmermann to lead off the 9th, and Hideki Okajima takes over to face the lefty Nick Johnson. Johnson is retired and righty Manny Declarmen goes to the mound against righty Josh Willingham, who doubles bringing Zim all the way around as he beats the throw home by JD Drew for the walk-off win. Lester goes from a win to a loss back to a win and eventually a no-decision as Bard gets the loss. Mike Macdougal gets the win for the Nationals.
