Mr. Automatic does not have his best stuff today, as Jonathan Papelbon coughs up both the lead and the game for his first blown save and loss of the season. Paps comes into the game with two out in the bottom of the 8th, runners on first and second with the Sox leading 3-2. Hanley Ramirez doubles knocking a run home to tie the score and a smokin throw by Jacoby Ellsbury saves a run by throwing out the runner on first trying to score. It could have been worse or better for the Sox, depending on how you look at this: The Marlins leave 14 men on base, and the Sox ground into 5 doubleplays! |
