May 7, 2009 Indians 9, Red Sox 5

Two recently strugling players are partly responsible for today's loss amd the Sox's troubles in recent days, Dustin Pedroia and Manny Declermen. Dustin is of no help on offense again with his third 0-fer day in a row with an 0 for 5 day, now 0 for his last 11 and 2 for his last 23 knocking his average below the Mendoza line, and Declarmen with 2 runs allowed today and 9 runs in his last 4 appearances totalling an inning and 2/3 over the last week.

A 5-3 Red Sox lead turns sour in the 8th when the Indians get to Tim Wakefield. Wake had pitches fairly well and with a nice low pitch count I kept him in for the 8th inning with the two run lead. That backfires on me, as Cleveland gets 6 runs off of Wake and the previously mentioned Manny Declarmen for the 9-5 final score. Kerry Wodd gets a cheap save with the four run lead as he pitches to one batter, enticing a groundout from Rocco Baldelli with two runners on base for the final out of the game. On deack batter JD Drew represented the tying run, henceforth the cheap save situation. Julio Lugo is a nice surprise for the Sox in the leadoff spot as the DH, ripping two doubles knocking home three runs.

Cleveland has outscored the Sox 25-6 in the two games so far, and have knocked the Sox out of first place in the division in addition to knocking the Sox out of the playoffs in the first round in the last three SOM playoffs that I have played. No wonder I fucking hate this team.

WEB GEMS- Bot 9th: Mark Derosa robbed Rocco Baldelli of a base hit.

Asdrubal Cabrera had 2 base hits as the Cleveland Indians beat the Boston Red
Sox by a score of 9 to 5.

Cleveland came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning scoring 6 runners
on 4 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Matt Laporta who disappointed
the partisan crowd when he doubled plating all three baserunners. Cleveland
had a total of 10 hits for the game.

The victory went to Jensen Lewis(2-1) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs.
Lewis got relief help from Kerry Wood who gained credit for his 3rd save.
The losing pitcher was Tim Wakefield(2-3).
