Despite a strong outing for Cole Hamels, all he gets for it is a big "L" in the loss collumn as lack of run support from his teammates does him in. It is either score lots or little so far, as the two Phillie wins total 19 runs while the two losses combine to score three. Carlos Ruiz lets one of the runs home when Troy Tulowitski steals third base with Ruiz's throw going into left field for an error as Troy trots home.

At Coors Field, the Colorado fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.  Jason
Marquis(1-0) finally bested his Philadelphia opposite, Cole Hamels(0-1), by
the score of 3 to 1.
 
Colorado went ahead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning plating an
isolated run utilizing 2 base hits.  Marquis got help from Huston Street who
pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 1st save.  
 
Hamels was the losing pitcher.  He surrendered 2 runs and 6 hits in 7 innings.
