| A well-rounded offense does the job today with all starters today scoring at least once execpt for Rocco Baldelli and all getting at least one hit except for NicK Green. Highlights - Jacoby Ellsbury at 4 for 4 with two doubles and a sac bunt, Mike Lowell 3 for 5 with a 3-run homer, and a two-run blast for Jason Bay. It all brings home a win for Jon Lester, his 8th on the year, as he also passes the 100 strikeout mark with 7 in the game. His third in the game (Jarrod S., I won't bother to spell the longest name in baseball history LOL) being number 100. The 8 wins ties Lester with the Giants' Matt Cain and Jarrod Washburn of the Mariners for the major league lead, and Lester's now 104 strikeouts puts him second in the majors behind the 112 from theTigers' Justin Verlander. |
