| Despite being outhit by the Mets 12-7 and trailing after the first inning 2-0, the Phils come alive and take out the broom, winning their 5th straight. Jimmy Rollins gets three hits, falling a homer shy of the cycle. In a statistical oddidity, the Phillies pitchers did not strike out a single hitter today! Interleague is next on the schedule, as the Phillies go back home after a 10 game road trip to take on the Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Orioles, then travel to two opposite ends of the spectrum - Tampa Bay and Toronto. |

At Citi Field the Philadelphia Phillies easily handled the New York (NL) Mets
by the score of 6 to 2.
Philadelphia tallied 2 runs in the 6th inning. The big moment was provided by
Chris Coste who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he doubled which
was good for two runs. New York (NL) had 12 hits in the game while
Philadelphia had 7, but Philadelphia had the more timely hits.
Jamie Moyer(6-4) got the win allowing 2 runs in 5 innings. Tim Redding(0-2)
was hit with the loss. He surrendered 4 runs and 4 hits in 6 innings.
The winning ways continue for Philadelphia. They now have a record of 8-2 in
recent days. New York (NL) can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'.
Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.
